A-Mazing Mess: Thousands Of Pounds Of Corn Feed Spill

An a-mazing mess this morning on a Lenoir County highway has dumped thousands of pounds of corn feed.

State troopers say about 44,800 pounds of corn feed spilled into a ditch when a tractor trailer overturned. Original weight estimates of 80,000 to 82,000 pounds included the weight of the truck, trailer, and product, according to troopers.

The crash happened near the Highway 258 and Nobles Mill Road intersection.

There were no injuries reported in the accident. The Highway Patrol says the driver has been charged. Troopers believe the driver did not slow down enough before making the turn, and that there was something wrong with the tires that wouldn't support the turn.
