A cold front finally pushed off the North Carolina coast Monday evening as rain lingered over much of eastern Carolina. An area of low pressure along the front will finally push northeast of our area by early Tuesday. The low will finally drag the front well out to sea allowing drier air to finally work into our area. Clouds will linger through much of Tuesday before clearing skies late in the day or at night. The cool air will continue on Tuesday with highs in the lower to middle 60s. Sunny skies will return by Wednesday as highs reach the lower to middle 70s. Dry weather is expected into the weekend.
