3 Teens Rob Cab Driver At Gunpoint

Three teenagers in Rocky Mount are charged with the armed robbery of a cab driver that happened Sunday morning.

Rocky Mount police say Tavarious Hudson, 18, Jamal Johnson, 17, along with a 15-year-old used a gun to hold up a cab driver on Lenoir Dr. Detectives say the three also assaulted the driver before taking off on foot.

Hudson and Johnson are being held on $40,000 bail. The 15-year-old was sent to the juvenile detention center in Pitt County.

Yea these music channels need to take some kind of stand and say you can do street rap but there has got to be some kind of parameters. No glorifying guns, and all this drug dealling music has got to stop. Its ok to struggle and survive in the streets and rap about it but all the glorification has to stop. They say absolutely nothing in rap these days. This is coming from a rapper myself

Kids are lucky that cabbie wasn't carrying a gun.

I knew a guy (in 1986?) that shot & killed a cab driver. He went to prison for 20 years. He was a new guy at work (at that time) and seemed friendly and nice. It was all deception!

always always gang related I guarantee!! they are trying to get into the gang or stay in the gang or rank up etc. The key to this is getting rid of the gang mentality from these kids and that my friends starts at home!! Mom and Dad need to raise junior and work for a living and stay on their butts when they do not do as they are supposed to in this society we live in!! Love them and make them do the right thing and make good decisions!! Shame Shame on you parents!!

I can tell you that where I slightly agree with you, there are children these days from affluent families that are in gangs, it is not just poor kids. The mass media holds blame in this as now a days, the "gangsta" culture is in mainstream media. It is all over BET,MTV, VHI, movies, the radio, the internet etc. Kids see this crap and think that its such a great life style. I have been in law enforcement for over 12 years and have worked first hand with gang members. I can say without doubt that it is not always the parents to blame. I do agree with you that parents need to be parents and stop trying to be their children's friend, they need to teach strong work ethics, something that seems to be lacking in modern society amongst many young people, and there needs to be harsher laws and sanctions.

I always wondered why cab drivers didn't go credit card only once the cell phone technology was there. Now with that square company credit card reader for just about any smart phone is free and only about 1.5% trans fee. Well worth it.
