Rainy and windy conditions from Tropical Storm Andrea are impacting events for the 30th anniversary celebration of the Washington Summer Festival this weekend along Stewart Parkway in Washington.
The Friday night fireworks and performance by the Craig Woolard Band have both been cancelled. The Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce is hoping to be able to reschedule both for later this summer.
Festival organizers say weather permitting, some of the vendors and amusement rides will be open Friday night on the Washington waterfront.
The festival continues Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with another full day of events.
The festival concludes Sunday with a free concert by the NC Symphony at 7:30 p.m. at Festival Park.
WITN is a proud sponsor of the Washington Summer Festival.
