Major General: Iraq, Afghanistan Prepared Marines For Next Mission

Wednesday aboard Camp Lejeune, we spoke with Major General Charles Gurganus- a commander in the corps who has spent time overseas in both the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. He says watching young marines from Camp Lejeune put their training to use and learning from combat is a good indicator of a precise and effective Marine Corps.

"We have young guys that are very good at making decisions and very good at making the right decision in some very difficult circumstances," said major General Gurganus.

The next big deployment for Lejeune marines is early next year for the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the Mediterranean.

He already has. Iraq is flat out finished, and Afghanistan is all but finished with the death of Osama Bin Laden. I'd imagine full troop withdraws there will happen no later than mid-late 2012. So yeah...Obama has ended the wars Bush started. Fact hurt, don't they?
