$100,000 Reward Offered In Washington Robbery

A reward of up to $100,000 dollars is now being offered for information leading to the recovery of stolen money and the whereabouts of suspects involved in the robbery of an armored truck on Thursday at Washington Square Mall.

The FBI, NC State Bureau of Investigation and the Washington Police Department are asking the public for help identifying the suspects involved.

Officials say the suspects overtook two armed men who were serving an ATM at Washington Square Mall.

Witnesses describe one of the robbers as a black man, about 6'0" tall with a thin build.

Officials say these men should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information about the robbers or the robbery is asked to call the FBI in NC at 704-377-9200, or Washington Police at 252-974-6400.

These security guards are trained not to fire their weapons in a mall type setting, or start a fire fight in a mall type setting. If they had shot up the place and possibly hit a bystander, then you would be talking about that!!

Is this fact or guesswork on your part? As a CCW holder who actually carries full time and practices frequently I wouldn't hesitate to fire if the line of fire is clear.

Inside job. Give it two years, then check the storage sheds, then arrest the Jed Clampet millionaires with the velvet Elvis paintings in the mansion, like they did in Charlotte.

It should give everyone a warm fuzzy feeling to know that even armed guards can be robbed at an ATM. Remember that the next time you use your plastic. Be alert and aware of everthing around you!

This should be investigated as an inside job. I mean, with no shots fired and all. I know we don't have all the facts but, the facts we have at this time lead me to believe that. Stay tuned......

Has anybody looked at the possible connections between the security guards on duty and any and all outsiders? Just seems suspicious that not one shot was fired during this robbery, and the thieves got away unharmed and un apprehended. This means that A. The guards were in on it, or B. The guards were scared to death for their own lives and did what they were instructed to do by the assailants. Which means they were not ready to die for a bag of money. Also.........100k for info leading to an arresst seems a bit high. Typically 10 percent is offered up in these cases which would mean that over one million was taken from the vehicle.

This may be considered the same a robbing a bank. So it is a Federal offense. I am almost sure that is how the reward is the amount it is.
