Study Shows Strawberries Could Treat Diabetes

A popular summertime fruit could play a role in helping to treat type 1 diabetes. A study has linked flavonoids found in strawberries as possible treatment.

New research in mice from the Salk Institute of Biological Studies in California suggests a flavonoid called fisetin may lessen complications of type 1 diabetes.

Strawberries in particular are rich in fisetin. More studies are needed to confirm the benefit.
