Man Sues After Part Of Penis Removed During Surgery

An attorney has told a jury his client no longer feels like a man after a surgeon removed part of his penis without consulting him.

The doctor claims he removed part of the penis in 2007 because it was cancerous.

Kevin George is an attorney for truck driver Phillip Seaton, who is suing the doctor. During opening arguments Monday, George showed the jury four photos of Seaton's groin and said, "You can see there's nothing there."

Seaton took the stand later Monday morning.

Attorney Clay Robinson says Dr. John Patterson removed only the tip of Seaton's penis. Patterson said it was riddled with deadly penile cancer. Robinson says another doctor removed the remainder of the penis.

Personally, I think that that that doctor should have waited until patient was fully over the affects of the anesthesia and asked before making such a big decision.

Now that was one hell of a circumcision! Why is he suing the doctor that only took off the end, and not the doctor that removed the rest?

A person has the right to decide what medical proceedures they want, and don't want. Some men would rather "take their chances" than have their member taken off, just as some women opt not to have their entire uterus removed when cervical cancer is detected. It's a personal decision and one that he should have been allowed to make. And I think it says a lot that the doctor justifies himself by saying it was "only the tip".

You know..... back in the day this man would have woke up thanking god and the doctor for letting him live. This day in time all they know is sue,,,sue,,,sue. What a pitiful country we live in today.

Geez. This reminds me of the woman who went to have her baby and when she came to, her limbs had been removed because she supposedly contracted some flesh-eating bacteria. I can't imagine going under to have cancer removed and then wake to find out that the rest had been removed by another doctor (assuming that's true).

If the doctor had not removed the cancerous penis this guy wouldn't be around to complain! Jerk.

So people are saying the doctors were in the right? Really? So next time you go to have surgery and they take part of you without consent, don't cry. This guy should have been consulted. The doctors should have talked to him and said "you have something cancerous on your penis. We need to operate and you will lose it." It's not about the money, it's about malpractice. The doctors probably filed with his insurance also. I really hope this guy wins and then they should have to repair it. I seriously doubt anything would have happened any time soon had they not operated. And you would think too that he would have noticed SOMETHING wrong if there was something on his penis. And what type of surgery was he supposed to have anyway that would require a doctor to operate on his penis.?
