Did you know one out of four women who die in the United States dies of heart disease?
That was one of the important facts hundreds of women learned at a local event Tuesday night.
Vidant Health and the East Carolina Heart Institute hosted about 400 women for their Heart Truth Dinner in Greenville.
The event focused on teaching women that heart disease is not just a problem for men. It touched on how they can learn their own risk factors and then take steps to prevent heart disease.
The event featured Emmy-Award winning actress Tracey Conway, from the 1990's sketch comedy show, "Almost Live."
Only minutes after, ironically, spoofing E.R. on her show, Conway literally dropped dead from cardiac arrest on stage.
After six defibrillator shocks, she came back to life and is now teaching women about heart health.
Tuesday night's Heart Truth Dinner was one of several free events Vidant Health is hosting for National Heart Month.
