Healthcare Professionals Subject To Needle Dangers

A new report says healthcare workers suffer an estimated 800,000 needlestick injuries every year in hospitals across the country.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information says 1,000 of those injured contract bloodborne diseases, including HIV/AIDS and hepatits B and C.

A Fox News report on the issue says a million-dollar agreement between hospital group purchasing organizations and a big needle maker have blocked safer syringes from getting into common place use.
