A ceremony is planned Thursday morning to mark the groundbreaking of the expansion of the Greenville VA clinic. Officials say the larger clinic will increase specialty care access to veterans.

The new facility, scheduled to be open in 2014, will be 116,000 square feet. The clinic will offer services such as audiology, cardiology, orthopedics, pharmacy, eye, dental, radiology, and minor procedures such as endoscopy.

Thursday's groundbreaking is open to the public, and veterans are encouraged to attend. It will take place at 401 Moye Blvd. in Greenville at 9:30 a.m. Republican Congressman Walter Jones will speak at the event.
