Gunfire rang out all day long Friday in one county, but it was all for a good cause.

People young and old took aim at clay targets in the 16th annual clay shoot for the Children's Miracle Network sponsored by Log A Load. Organizers say the weather hasn't helped much this year. The event was originally planned the weekend Irene hit, and this weekend will be rainy too. Typically the tournament brings in up to $80,000 in 2 days.

"Every time you hear one of them loud bangs, think of a quarter or a dollar to help the children at the children's hospital."
said event organizer Earl Dail.

Rain or shine, the tournament continues Saturday at Hunter's Pointe just north of Washington on Highway 17 from 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. The first round for adults is $65 which includes lunch and a t-shirt and $50 for each additional round. Winners will take home new rifles.
