Bethel's only health care clinic is shutting down Saturday and moving to Greenville.

The East Carolina University run Bethel Family Practice Center in Pitt County has been in Bethel many years, but ECU officials say they've lost too much money. The town hopes to buy the building from ECU and find a new doctor to move in, but that could take up to 6 months to be approved. Until then, the town could lease the building, the decision on that will go to the ECU board at the end of September.

We asked residents what their plans are in the meantime.
"We are going to have to find a new one, maybe in Greenville somewhere," said patient Omar Cherry

Mayor Mike Whitehurst says there's a doctor interested in moving into the building, but there is no official contract at this time.
