Autopsy: Homeless Man Crushed In Trash Compactor

An autopsy confirms that a homeless man in Wilmington died from crushing injuries before his body was dumped in a waste pit.

The Star-News of Wilmington reports officials said Thursday that
42-year-old Berry O'Neal Carter was crushed. Investigators say they think Carter was sleeping in a trash bin that was picked up by a truck and compacted on April 9.

The truck driver told officials he heard a strange noise that morning. The autopsy said Carter's death was accidental and that alcohol intoxication contributed to it.

I can only imagine the sounds that will haunt the truck driver for many moons to come.It gives me the chills to think about it myself.I hope Mr Carter, was STILL highly intoxicated and asleep when all this happened so he would feel no pain. How horrible.I guess fire and water and now trash compactor can be added to my most horrible ways to leave this earth.
