New Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Study

Post-traumatic stress disorder is associated with multiple long-term health problems.

A new study of war veterans finds those with PTSD are more likely to have metabolic syndrome than those without the disorder. Metabolic syndrome is actually a cluster of several issues linked to cardiovascular disease; they include obesity, high blood pressure and insulin resistance.

According to the national institute of mental health, more than 7 million Americans suffer from PTSD.
