More Preschool Aged Children Experiencing Stress

It seems that adults aren't the only ones who are stressed. New research indicates young children feel the heat too.

Researchers studied 191 preschoolers at 12 different child care centers in the southeast. They took saliva samples to determine their stress hormone level and conducted interviews. They found children in classrooms with 10 students or less, had less stress during the day. However, children in classes with 20 or more students, had higher stress hormones.

Maybe they should have included samples of children who stay at home with a parent or relative. I doubt all the kids were scared. They probably thought it was cool. My kids would, anyway.

Sharon - that is exactly what I was thinking! My preschooler would be scared!

Do you think that maybe strangers coming into the classroom to take saliva samples did it? Geez what money we waste on stupid "research".
