A new report shows the number of people living with diabetes has gone up 90 percent over the last decade.
Researchers with the CDC found almost five out of one thousand people had diabetes in 1997, compared to nine out of one thousand people in 2007. Most of the cases of diabetes are in southern states including North Carolina.
Puerto Rico had the most new cases of diabetes at 12 out of one thousand people.
