Local physicians and Pitt County Memorial Hospital have created the SurgiCenter of Eastern Carolina.
The center is at the corner of Bethesda Drive and Stantonsburg Road in Greenville.
It was previously known as SurgiCenter Services of Pitt, Inc.
According to a news release, PCMH sold a minority portion of the SurgiCenter of Eastern Carolina, LLC business to physician partners. The release said while PCMH will maintain majority control of the business, the hospital sees this new partnership as an opportunity to work even closer with physicians to provide exceptional services.
“The SurgiCenter has a very strong history of providing excellent care to the people of eastern North Carolina,” said Larry Seigler, chairman of the UHS/PCMH Board of Trustees. “It will still be the same business,
only now we will be able to take patient care to the next level by enhancing the partnership with our physicians and surgeons."
Steve Tripp, executive director of the SurgiCenter of Eastern Carolina, LLC, said the change is positive.
“More than 25 years ago, the SurgiCenter was created by physicians," Tripp said. "The move to an LLC allows us to continue fulfilling our mission of providing excellent medical care to our patients and their families.”
The officers for the SurgiCenter’s Board of Managers are Chairman Steve Lawler, Vice-Chairman Dr. Chris Hasty, Treasurer David Hughes and Secretary Dr. Bradley Brechtelsbauer.
