Massive Crib Recall

Some drop-side cribs are being recalled because they can detach creating a dangerous gap that could kill a child.

About 600,000 Simplicity brand drop side cribs are being recalled because the drop side can come off its track creating a hazardous gap that could trap or suffocate a small child. While there have been several reports of drop sides detaching, there are no reports of any injuries.

The recall includes the "Aspen and Crib 'n Changer Combo", "Gabrielle", "Camille", "Providence" and "Shenandoah" models. The cribs were sold at numerous stores between January 2005 and August 2008.

If you have the crib, you should return it to the store where you bought it for store credit.

The recalled model numbers include: 8620, 8745, 8748, 8755, 8756, 8778, 8810, and 8994. The recalled drop side cribs have a date code, which can be found on a label on the headboard under the mattress support, which ends in 05dh, 05gb, 06dh, 06gb, 07dh or 07gb

i didnt keep my receipt for my daughters crib because I thought that I would never have to return a crib...when I took it back to walmart for the recall...they only gave my $45 towards a new crib instead of the full amount that I paid. had i known that they were only going to give me $45 then I would have just had my husband fix the crib so that it wouldnt break. then we wouldnt have had to spend an extra $120 on another one!
