U-K Study Says Key To Having Active Kids May Lie With Parents

The secret to having physically active children may lie within their parents.

A study of 11 and 12 year olds in the U-K finds that parents who are active during pregnancy and in their child's early life tend to raise more active children.

The link was especially strong among pregnant moms who regularly swam or did brisk walking. Researchers don't think that particular link has anything to do with what happens in the womb... rather, experts say active pregnant women are simply likely to stay active afterward.

Having a big brother or sister to run after also helped young kids stay active.
