CDC: Number Of Preventable Diseases Down

Researchers from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the number of some preventable illnesses have decreased dramatically.

It's all thanks to a little jab like this, according to researchers. They say illness and death rates for 13 vaccine-preventable diseases in the US
have gone down since implementing vaccines.

Researchers report diphtheria, measles, paralytic poliomyelitis, rubella and smallpox are 99- to 100-percent wiped out in this country.
