Destination Furniture Featured In High Point

Scattered through the 12 million square feet of showroom space at this month's market were collections inspired by California's Monterey coastline, Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood and the countryside of upstate New York. They're all are set to hit stores next spring. Another offering has a local appeal. Two new furniture collections by Magnussen Home Furnishings draw inspiration from Bilmore House in Asheville. President and chief executive Jeff Cook says Magnussen Home's two new lines explore what he calls the "less formal aspects" of the Vanderbilt lifestyle. Furniture industry analyst Jerry Epperson says destination furniture as having more staying power than some of the celebrity lines.
