A family of five lost their home to a fire Tuesday afternoon.
No one was home when a mobile home erupted in flames around 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
Four fire departments battled the blaze at 11685 Old Highway 70 West in Cove City, located in Craven County.
Fire officials say the home is destroyed, but the two adults and three children who lived there are safe. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
Its cause is still under investigation.
