For the second time in the five months since being found not guilty at his murder trial, an Onslow County man faces new charges.
According to online court records, 22-year-old Nickey Yates was in an Onslow County court room Thursday.
Yates is now facing two new felony charges including Schedule III drug possession and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Jail records show Yates bonded out Thursday, but is due back in court on April 24th for the newest charges.
In November of 2013, a jury found Yates not guilty in the murder of his Pumpkin Center neighbor, Linda Hulsmann. He was also found not guilty of kidnapping, robbery, and breaking and entering- all charges connected to the murder case.
In late January of 2014, Yates plead guilty to one count of possession of a stolen gun. In that case, the District Attorney's office said evidence showed the gun in question was stolen from an State Bureau of Investigation agent's vehicle.
