Woman Delivers Baby At Chapel Hill Bus Stop

A doctoral student at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill saw a pregnant woman in distress at a bus stop.

But 36-year-old Emily Brewer of Carrboro didn't expect to deliver the woman's child beside the street Wednesday.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports Brewer did just that, with her 2-year-old son Dylan right by her side.

The woman didn't speak English and Brewer doesn't speak Spanish, but they managed to understand what was needed.

Brewer called 911 and helped the woman as she delivered the boy before paramedics arrived.

The woman and her child were taken to a hospital. Brewer never found out her name.

Brewer says her son has been curious about babies and has gotten what she called a "cycle of life experience."
