Commercial fishing is a big industry here in the east but it has taken a hit recently because of all of the windy weather.
Since mid January local fishermen who fish miles, even hundreds of miles off our coast, say they have only been able to go out to fish a few days due to the windy conditions.
Many fishermen have told their crews to look for part time jobs on land until the weather improves.
Local fisherman Jimmie Eady says this weekend will be his first time out for a three day span in three months.
