Williamston Woman Killed In Beaufort County Crash

A Williamston woman has died after a head-on crash Thursday in Beaufort County.

State troopers say Alison Fields was driving a van when she crossed the center line after coming out of a curve and hit a fertilizer spreader truck. The accident happened around 10:25 a.m. on Highway 99, north of Pantego.

The 51-year-old woman was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center where troopers say she died shortly after arriving.

No charges will be brought in the accident.
