Washington "Paints The Town Pink"

Washington looked a little pink on Friday as people wore pink and businesses decorated their store fronts in the same color for breast cancer awareness, with proceeds to benefit the local Marion Shepard Cancer Center.

Friday was the fourth annual "Paint the Town Pink Day" in Beaufort County. Eastern Radiologists and Vidant Beaufort held a fundraiser selling t-shirts, while businesses are allowed their employees to "dress down" and wear jeans to work with their t-shirts to show support. Local businesses gave discounts to patrons wearing pink in their store.

There was also a store front decorating contest where businesses decorated their store front in pink. The winning business will have money donated to the cancer center on their behalf.

Winners of the store front contest were as follows: Overall - First Bank, 2nd Street. Presentation - Wilson Jones and Company. Visibility/Creativity - First Bank, John Small Avenue.
