Two Arrested In Overnight Greenville Home Invasion


Police say two men have been charged after a home invasion-style robbery early Thursday morning.

Greenville police say Terrell McMillar and Irfann Gray, both of Greenville, were nabbed minutes after the crime was reported to them.

Police say the victim, Rayon Artis, reported two men got into his home on Boardwalk Lane using a key. Artis was assaulted and his wallet and debit card were taken.

Police said they saw two men matching the description of the gunmen going into a nearby apartment at Summer Green. McMillar and Gray were arrested and police recovered two handguns and 160 grams of cocaine.

The two men have been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, first degree burglary, first degree kidnapping, possession of cocaine, assault with a deadly weapon, along with other charges.

Both were jailed on $250,000 bond.

Those two suspected robbers are currently being questioned by police.

Officer George said the victim was hit in the head, but he did not require medical attention.

Officers said the victim knew the robbers.

Police said overnight they were also investigating a home invasion on Moseley Drive off Tenth Street around 5 a.m. An update from police at 7 a.m. says the armed robbery reported outside of a home there proved "unsubstantiated." Police say the alleged victim refused to both provide details and file a report.

Greenville police said they are now working on two separate home invasions that happened in the city early Thursday morning.

The first, according to Officer George, was around 1:50 a.m. in the 3100 block of Boardwalk Lane in Greenville.

The second home invasion on Thursday happened around 5 a.m. on Mosley Drive near E. 10th Street according to investigators.

Police said they believe that home invasion was drug related.

While the victim at the Mosley Drive invasion was not hurt, police said the two suspected robbers did get away, but we do not know at this point if they took anything.

We are awaiting more details from detectives on both cases.
