2nd Arrest Made 2 Months After Wayne County Double Murder

Deputies have made another arrest in a Wayne County shooting late last year that killed two people and wounded two others.

Kevin Raiford of Dudley is now charged in the December 3rd deaths of Jamaal Kornegay and Nakiea Garner in Wayne County.

The two cousins were killed in a home on Old Mount Olive Highway, while two others were wounded. Jujuan Cox was arrested the day after for the shootings, while Raiford was caught Tuesday. Deputies haven't said what a possible motive was.

Funeral services are now set for two cousins shot and killed over the weekend in Wayne County.

According to obituaries, 28-year-old Jamaal Kornegay and 30-year-old Nakiea Garner, both of Old Mount Olive Highway in Wayne County, were killed in the Sunday shooting at a home on that road. Both funerals are set for Sunday December 9th at 3:00 p.m. at the Greater St. John Church in Dudley. Kornegay leaves behind a 6 month old daughter.

Wayne County deputies say Jujuan Cox was arrested Tuesday morning in a Smithfield hotel room for the double murder. He's charged with two counts of murder. His first court appearance is Wednesday.

A Dudley man has been caught, a day after deputies say he shot and killed two people and wounded two others.

Wayne County deputies say the nabbed Jujuan Cox in a Smithfield hotel room early Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened Sunday evening on Mount Olive Highway.

Anthony Kornegay and Nakiea Garner were killed in the shooting, while Tre Stokes and Leonard Darden were wounded.

Cox, who has been charged with two counts of murder, will have his first court appearance Wednesday in Wayne County.

Two people are dead and two others wounded in a shooting in Eastern Carolina.

Wayne County deputies say they found two bodies at a home on Mount Olive Highway and a third person injured last night around 9:45 p.m. Another victim was found wounded several blocks away.

Deputies are looking for Jujuan Cox of Dudley for the shootings. The victims and witnesses identified Cox as the gunman. A SWAT team searched his home, but so far Cox has not been found.

Anthony Kornegay and Nakiea Garner were killed in the shooting, while the victim at the house has been identified as Tre Stokes. He was shot in his thigh. The fourth person, Leonard Darden, was shot in his arm.

Deputies have not yet said a possible motive in the shootings and are asking anyone who knows the whereabouts of Cox to call 919-731-1480.
