A man and woman are behind bars after officials say they robbed a gas station employee just outside the business.

Pitt County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Christy Wallace says that 19-year-old Mirranda Brock and 32-year-old Jonathon Nichols were arrested for the crime that took place outside the Wilcohess Trade Mart on Highway 33 near Blackjack Simpson Road around 9:30 a.m Saturday.

Wallace says the employee had the store’s deposit bag taken from them at gun point.

Investigators say they brought the two in for questioning the same afternoon and made the arrests shortly thereafter.

Both have been charged with robbery with a firearm or other dangerous weapon.

Brock is being held on a $50,000 secured bond. Nichols has a $75,000 secured bond.

The employee was not injured.
