Previous Story
What looked to be a routine speeding stop Saturday night in Lenoir County, turned into a chase for one Highway Patrolman.

Trooper Jackie Rogers says that he attempted the stop on NC 11 near Granger Station Road, when we’re told 36-year-old Quinones Dixon of Kinston, did a u-turn and began heading North on NC-11 toward Pitt County. Trooper Rogers says he drove after Dixon who would veer off onto South Highland Avenue and briefly enter the Pitt County town of Grifton. We’re told Dixon then took a right onto Contentnea Drive, which changes into Tick Bite Road. Trooper Rogers says that Dixon would go off the right side of the road and into a small creek.

Dixon would try to run into the creek, but as it got deeper, decided to surrender to authorities, Trooper Rogers said.

Dixon has been charged with felony speeding to elude, as well as reckless driving, and driving with license revoked.
