A trial date has finally been set for the man accused of killing a mother from the east, the mother of his two boys.
Grant Hayes and his current wife, Amanda, are both charged in the murder of Kinston mom, Laura Ackerson. She disappeared in July of 2011; her remains were found in a creek all the way in Texas.
A judge set the trial for Grant Hayes, tentatively, for the week of May 20. That's according to WRAL, which reports a hearing in February will determine whether Hayes' wife Amanda will be tried at the same time.
