Mom Accused Of Leaving Toddler In Car With Freezing Temperatures

You hear a lot about not leaving kids in cars in the heat of the summer, but a North Carolina mom is facing charges for leaving her toddler in the car in the freezing cold.

Sylla Aminata, 39, is facing child neglect charges in Gaston County. Police say she left her 2-year-old son locked in the car for nearly an hour while she shopped at Walmart this week. The temperature outside was 34 degrees when an officer found the child.

A judge said her next appearance should include an interpreter since Aminata had trouble understanding the court proceedings because she isn't fluent in English.

She is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
