Toddler Dies In Racing Death On Charlotte Highway

Authorities say a 2-year-old boy has been killed in a wreck between two cars that were racing on Interstate 77 in Charlotte.

State troopers say two Mitsubishi Eclipses were speeding on I-77 north around 1 a.m. Saturday when they collided.

Authorities say the wreck killed Trevon Nichols and left the driver and an adult passenger in the car seriously injured. The driver of the other car also was seriously injured.

Troopers say they continue to investigate the wreck and expect to file charges.
