Three teenagers are now in jail, accused of shooting a 19-year-old girl in the neck in Elizabeth City over the weekend.
An eyewitness to the shooting told our affiliate, WAVY, that 19-year-old Julie Reed is now paralyzed from the neck down after the Saturday afternoon shooting.
The victim told police she was trying to break up a fight when she was shot. Our affiliate reports the student is still in the hospital.
By Monday afternoon, police said they arrested three other teens in connection with the shooting.
According to police, 16-year-old Jamir Brazzle is accused of assault with a deadly weapon, intent to kill. His bond was set at $35,000.
Willis George Jr., who is 17-years-old and 18-year-old Dazir Bonds are both charged with accessory after the fact. Both George Jr. and Bond were given a $25,00 bond each.
All three were taken to the Albemarle District Jail.
