Three Pitt County Men Charged With Choking Dog To Death

Three Pitt County men are accused of beating and then choking to death a puppy on Tuesday.

Deputies have charged Demetrius Crumble, Evan Harrington and Kendrick Fitchett with felony cruelty to animals.

Deputies say just before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, a neighbor on Carolyn Street saw three people beat and then choke the dog to death with a telephone cord. Investigators says the three then drug the pit-terrier mix into a ditch and left it there where deputies found the dog dead.

The three men are also charged with improper disposal of an animal. Crumble is under a $60,000 bond, while Harrington and Fitchett have $35,000 bonds.
