Three Brothers Injured In Log Truck Crash

Troopers say a teenager has been charged in an accident that injured himself and his two younger brothers.

State troopers say Zachary Sawyer was cited for failing to yield at a stop sign.

The crash happened yesterday afternoon at the intersection of Mackeys Road and Highway 45, northeast of Plymouth. The Highway Patrol says Sawyer pulled out in front of a log truck that was coming down Highway 45. The truck swerved and almost struck a nearby convenience store.

Sawyer's ten and twelve year old brothers were injured. Troopers say the younger brother was airlifted to Vidant Medical Center.

The highway was closed for two hours because of the crash.
