25 year ECU radio broadcaster Jeff Charles is scheduled to return courtside at Minges Coliseum Wednesday night as ECU plays host to UAB in men's basketball.
Charles has missed most of the 2012-13 ECU basketball season battling colon cancer. Charles recently told WITN Sports Director Billy Weaver that he is "feeling about 75 percent healthy and 100 percent cancer free."
Charles has recently begun chemotherapy treatments and will continue treatments through the summer.
There are seven regular season ECU men's basketball games left on the schedule but as of right now Charles will only broadcast home games for the rest of this season.
"The Voice of the Pirates" will join Billy Weaver and ECU head coach Jeff Lebo this Sunday for the Jeff Lebo show which will air on WITN at noon.
