Teen Busted For Internet Gun Buy Robberies

A teen is accused of multiple robbery and robbery attempts where he pretended to be meeting someone to purchase a gun advertised on the Internet.

Dymarcus Sanders of Jacksonville is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm and two counts of possession of a stolen firearm.

Onslow County deputies say back on November 19th, a man said he went to the area of 240 Foy Lockamy Road to meet a person about selling his handgun after posting it on the Internet. When he got there, the victim says he met a young black man who ran off with the gun.

On December 3rd, another man met someone at the same location to sell a gun that he too had listed on the internet. After the potential buyer failed to show up, the victim call him and after some discussion over the phone, the person threatened the victim if he left. That victim was able to leave the area.

The next day, in the same location, another man went to sell his gun which was listed on the Internet. The victim said a young black man pulled a gun on him, robbing him of the firearm.

Deputies say that same week, another victim had listed his firearm for sale too. But that man had seen warnings on the Internet about a gun sale "set-up" and never went to the area for the meeting.

After an investigation, deputies say they were able to identify Sanders as the robber. They say the 18 year old lived in the area where the "set-ups" were taking place.
