An early Wednesday morning crash sent a car slamming into a light pole and caused a small power outage.
Trooper R.A. McGowen of the Highway Patrol said he got the call to Lyman Rod in Beulaville around 12:45 a.m.
McGowen said he arrived to find 21-year-old Daymon Hayes' car slammed against a power pole.
Hayes lost control of his car in a curve, according to McGowen, and hit the pole head on.
While alcohol was a factor in the wreck, troopers said the amount was not high enough to charge Hayes with a DWI.
Hayes was taken to Vidant Duplin Hospital with minor injuries.
Jones-Onslow Electric Membership Corporation tells WITN one customer lost power as a result of the crash. By 7 a.m., the power was back on.
Hayes was charged with reckless driving.
