A swimming advisory has been lifted for the public beach access on Radio Island in Carteret County.
The state issued the advisory on Wednesday because of high bacteria levels.
Tests now show those bacteria levels have dropped and the water is now safe to swim in again.
A swim advisory has been issued for a sound-side site in Carteret County. Officials say bacteria levels found in the water exceed the state standard.
They urge you not to go into the water at the Radio Island Public Beach access, off Marine Road on Radio Island.
The beach will remain open but the advisory does affect the entire area. We'll keep you posted on when the water is safe.
