The man deputies say was involved in the armed robbery of a convenience store Sunday morning has been identified.
Officials say that 24-year-old Wesley Baxter has been charged with robbery with firearm or other dangerous weapon, larceny from a person, assault with a deadly weapon, and 2 counts of kidnapping.
Wesley's bond was set at $130,000
Wesley is being held in the Onslow County Detention Facility.
Onslow County Deputies are investigating an armed robbery from early Sunday morning.
Officials say at approximately 4:10 Sunday morning, deputies were dispatch to the Scotchman Store on Hwy 172 in Hubert to investigate an armed robbery of a customer by a suspect using a screw driver as a weapon. They say the suspect had a ski mask on over a helmet.
Investigators say the suspect fled the scene on his moped still wearing his helmet with the ski mask over it. According to Deputy Culpepper with the Onslow County Sheriffs Department, the suspect apologized for robbing the victim and told the officer times were hard and he just needed some money.
The suspect's identity has not been released, but he has been charged and is being held in the Onslow County Detention Facility.
