A business in the east is reaching out through social media to try and help catch a person that broke into their store.

iFixNC posted surveillance footage on their public, company Facebook page showing a man coming in through a hole in the front of the business located at 3906 MLK Blvd in New Bern around 1:55 Sunday morning.

The man is seen walking up to one of the display cases, and then smashing it a few times with something in his hand. After 2 strikes, the man turns around and crawls back through the hole empty handed.

New Bern police said the crook was likely scared off by the store alarm system sounding.

The store says it is now offering a $500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the man.

New Bern police said detectives would continue their investigation and review the surveillance footage Monday.
