Super Bowl XLVI Most Watched TV Show Ever

The numbers are in and Sunday night's Super Bowl XLVI was the most-watched television show in U.S. history.

The Nielsen Company says 111.3 million people watched the New York Giants defeat the New England Patriots, 21-17. The game was broadcast on NBC and WITN.

Last night's audience topped the previous record 111.0 million, those who watched Super Bowl XLV on Fox.

The viewership and ratings grew throughout the game and peaked at 117.7 million viewers from 9:30-9:58 p.m. when Eli Manning led the Giants on a game-winning drive.
