Thursday will be partly cloudy and warm but temperatures will remain a bit below normal across eastern Carolina. A stray shower is possible as afternoon highs reach the middle 80s in most locations, with moderate humidity levels.
The Bermuda Ridge will build westward into eastern Carolina by Friday and the weekend. The ridge will push increasing moisture back into the area as a moist southeast to southerly flow develops. A stationary front will be draped across the area as well. Scattered showers should develop by Friday afternoon or evening and continue intermittently through the weekend. The slow-moving showers and high moisture content of the air will produce locally heavy downpours, with localized flooding possible. Temperatures will remain in the muggy, middle 80s Friday through Sunday.
