A surge of hot air will move into eastern Carolina for Thursday and Friday. Afternoon highs will reach the lower 90s inland and middle to upper 80s on the beaches. Skies will remain mostly sunny throughout the day. A stray storm may develop during Thursday afternoon and evening.
Hot conditions will continue on Friday as temperatures hit the upper 80s to lower 90s. A few storms are possible again by the afternoon hours into the evening as a cold front slides towards the region.
A few showers and storms may linger into Saturday as the front pushes slowly to the south. Drier and slightly cooler air will filter into the area by Saturday night and Sunday.
