Sunshine And Chilly Across Eastern Carolina On Thursday

A reinforcing surge of chilly air will arrive in eastern Carolina for the end of the week. Overnight clouds may bring a few sprinkles but clearing skies will develop around or shortly after sunrise. There will be plenty of sunshine throughout Thursday with afternoon highs topping out in the upper 40s. A northwesterly wind at 10 to 18 mph will keep wind chills in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

A Freeze Watch has been posted for Thursday night along the coast as tender vegetation will be threatened by near or slightly below freezing temperatures. Elsewhere, overnight lows will bottom out in the middle to upper 20s. It will stay dry through Friday but some rain may develop by late Saturday as low pressure moves into our area. A soaking rain is likely on Sunday. Highs over the weekend will be in the 50s.
