A cold front swept clouds and showers well off the North Carolina coast by Thursday afternoon. Gusty northwest to north winds brought drier and cooler air into the area by late in the day and evening. The cooler air will lead to lows close to 40° by sunrise. We'll see sunny skies with highs in the middle to upper 50s Friday afternoon. A storm system to our west will bring clouds by late Saturday with some rain by Sunday. Highs over the weekend will range from the 50s to near 60°.
