A Rainy, Stormy Monday

A cold front approaching from the west is acting on abundant moisture over Eastern North Carolina to produce a large area of rain and thunderstorms. Some of the rain is heavy and flooding is possible. Use extra caution when driving today or tonight. Rain amounts over 1 inch are likely for much of the area. Rain will taper down to scattered showers overnight. The front will move through Tuesday morning, but a few lingering showers are possible. A stray thunderstorm or two could form Tuesday afternoon until the dry air establishes itself Tuesday evening.

Temperatures will hold in the 70s the rest of Monday afternoon into the evening. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60's Monday night. Tuesday will be partly sunny with stray thundershowers and highs in the low to mid 80s. Wednesday will be a beautiful day with highs in the 80s.
